Vincent Braxton “Chippy” Blanks Sr., 82, of Gloucester, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at his home.

He was born in Hampton and was raised in Fox Hill. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1963. Following his service in the Army, he retired from the Newport News Shipyard in 1993 after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he was an avid golfer, loved fishing, coached Little League baseball for many years. He was well known and loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Helen Margarite Blanks; son, Vincent Braxton “Chippy Jr.” Blanks; sister, Rose Marie Blanks Routen; brother, Spencer E. Blanks Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Marie Inman Blanks; children, Dana Melinda Blanks, Michael Jared Blanks (Suzanne), David Marlowe Blanks (Leslie); nine grandchildren; 3½ great-grandchildren, and niece, Joyce Wright.
A private memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. There was a Celebration of Life at 5 p.m. following the service at the home of Michael and Suzanne Blanks.
Memorial donations may be made to the Watermen’s Museum, P.O. Box 519, Yorktown, Va. 23690-0519.

We TV has released a “Braxton Family Values” trailer for the second half of season five, which highlights everything from arrests, to divorce drama to social media dragging.
But it’s their father’s wife that seems to churn the most tension moving forward.

Flashbacks from earlier seasons show the Braxton sisters’ roller coaster ride with their dad, Michael Conrad Braxton Sr., who, according to Toni, “forgot about us” when he remarried shortly after divorcing Evelyn.
“I want to plan a trip to Mexico,” Tamar announces, unfazed by sister Trina’s suggestion that “Daddy’s gonna want to bring his wife.”
“She can’t come,” Tamar fires back. “Everybody ain’t invited to the party.”
It appears that Michael Sr. and his wife do end up in Mexico with the siblings, and, the promo declares, “What the other Mrs. Braxton tells them will change their world forever.”
“You gotta choose your kids!” Tamar screams in tears over scenes of an emotional family dinner. “It doesn’t matter!”
